Soccer Practice. Or not.

Today, Tyler and I went to Abby's soccer practice to hang out with G since the weather is so nice. Except that when we got there, there was no soccer practice. Apparently it was canceled due to bad field conditions- they were rather squishy.

So instead of soccer practice, we took a walk.

Tyler had to stop at every single puddle on the way to throw rocks and sticks in.

We tried to get a good Mama/Tyler picture. It didn't work.
He was too busy looking at the water. :p

He didn't appreciate it when I tried to get him away from a puddle. So he did this:
He's such a little turd. ;)

A happy turd!

Sharing with Dexter

Tyler loves his dog. His dog loves him too!
(He must, since he doesn't even flinch when he has a 32ish pound toddler climbing all over him!)

Tyler loves Dex so much that he shared his milkshake with him!

I wasn't ok with him drinking after the dog, so instead I gave him the rest of my ice cream cone to share with Dex. ;)

Tyler thought it was pretty cool.

Dex agreed.

{Please ignore the bug bite on his face. I accidentally got his "bad side". ;) }

Orange Julius Time!

One of my favorite memories of growing up is when my mom would make orange juliuses for us kids.
Now Tyler loves them too... only he gets to make them himself...

 ...with a little help.

I'd share the recipe, but I learned from my mom, and let's just say we kinda wing it.
I know there's some sugar:

Some vanilla:

Some milk, some frozen orange juice, and lots and lot of ice:

Sometimes daddys don't pay attention to things going on around them. Tyler's daddy may have placed the empty ice tray on a burner that had just finished boiling some water. Oops.

After blending everything together (and making sure to remove the fire hazard!) you pop a straw in and enjoy!

It's even better if you enjoy it as a family. ;)

23 weeks- Still a Papaya

23 down, 17 to go! It's incredible how fast time flies with the second pregnancy. Could it have something to do with chasing a toddler around??? ;)

This week the baby is still a papaya, so nothing new or exciting there. The not-so-handy not-so-dandy fruit website also has no changes in development from last week. :/  So I guess that just means that Baby Girl is still listening to all the sounds around us and her face is still fully formed. lol

No big changes in how I feel either. The heartburn is getting worse, and if I recall correctly from last time, it'll just keep right on coming til the minute Baby Girl is born.

Cravings this week: Red Gatorade and Trefoils. And meat. (Still an inhuman amount of meat...)

Same Thing, Different Day

Well whaddaya know!? We went outside and walked down the driveway today. Again. What can I say? Life on the mountain involves lots and lots and lots of time outside.

We spent a good portion of the day on the bench. For reasons I do not understand, Tyler loves the bench.
Of course, he pointed enthusiastically when he "found" it.

And he headed on over...

He made a pit stop at the ceramic pots to investigate their contents
(leaves and rocks, placed there by himself yesterday)

and climbed right on up!

Then he sat there and waited for cars to drive by... which does not happen often way up here. ;)

He excitedly pointed each one out to me, in case I needed help finding them myself.
(I believe we saw four today)

I have to be honest, he is not wearing his jacket today because I knew I'd be taking pictures and I wanted them to look at least a teeny bit different than every other picture I've taken this week! Poor cold baby...
(It wasn't actually cold, but that really was my reason for skipping the jacket!)

So there's another "exciting" day up here on the mountain.
Tomorrow we'll be cleaning up the house and probably playing outside some more, then heading home in the evening. We've had a good week, but we definitely miss home! (a.k.a. our husband/daddy) Ok, we miss Dex too.
And I might miss having cell service... me = texting addict. ;)

Chattin' With Daddy ♥

Tyler has really missed his daddy this week.

Really really missed him.

So much, that when I handed him the phone to talk to Daddy, he didn't bother trying to push buttons or play with it. He just sat and listened. ♥

And he talked a little bit. Mostly to say "NO" when Tory told him to give the phone back to me...

He loves his sister already. ;)

I was sitting on the bench at the end of the driveway today, watching Tyler play. He climbed up next to me and put his head right on my belly and just laid there for a while. So so sweet! ♥

[Of course, he never loosened his grip on his ever-present keys. ;)]

Tonight as I was holding him to sleep, he was laying his head on my tummy again. Baby Girl kicked really hard and Tyler sat up, looked at the exact spot she kicked, and patted it. It may have been a fluke, but I thought it was pretty funny!!

Bubbles!

Tyler thinks they're pretty cool. He laughs these big belly laughs when I blow bubbles.

He hasn't quite gotten the hang of it himself yet, but he looks pretty darn cute trying!

Just another day... (very picture heavy)

Today started off at the ungodly hour of 4:40am. Tyler woke up unhappy so I held him in bed with me until 6:30, when he finally fell back asleep. Til 7. Then he was up for good. That was fun...

His morning continued with a pop tart on his blanket while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Blues Clues.
For some odd reason, he was comfortable like this. It's not an action shot. He was like this long enough for me to see him, go get the camera, and snap a picture!

After breakfast, we headed out to see what adventures we could find. As it turned out, there were no adventures. So we settled for getting the oil changed in my car. :p
And buying a big green ball for Tyler, which he carried around in his very own bag. He was so proud. lol

We then made an attempt at lunch, which he shot down. I can only assume he hasn't eaten a lunch here because he loves to be difficult...

So after a lot of kicking and throwing and chasing his new ball, it was nap time.
I planned to get a huge chunk of sewing done while he napped. I have a queen and a twin quilt that I need to finish soon, so I got to work on the queen. I made it this far:

...and then my sewing machine went to hell. It just quit working, which means I had to quit working. Talk about frustrating! 3 rows out of 11 are done, and my hands are tied til I get home to get it fixed.

So I took a nap. ;)

After our naps, we both had a huge snack of strawberries and oranges. (To make up for the peanut m&ms we ate earlier...)
Not sure what this face is, but it's cute!

I think he was worried that I would steal his snack.

But then he got over it and gave me a smile.

Next, it was time for a walk. (I know, I know. What else is new?)
We walked:

And we threw rocks in the creek:

And we took pictures of ourselves:

And we pointed at airplanes:

And we looked cute. (Well, one of us did):

We got back from our walk, and Tyler thought it'd be fun to sing and dance a little.

Then I made a gourmet dinner of frozen pizza, which Tyler at three whole big pieces of. (Piglet??) No pictures because I was busy eating too. :)

Then came bath time.I didn't bring any bath toys with us, so all he has to play with is a tiny lego shark. He loves that thing though! He made it "eat" his toes:

And his nose:

And my hand, the shampoo bottle, the water, his ear, the washcloth, his belly button... but I figured two pictures was enough. ;)

After bath, I read Amber the Ambulance to him about 23 times before putting my foot down and saying NO MORE. Then I put him to bed by singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star roughly 54 times. He was probably asleep around #42, but I wanted to make sure...

So there you have it. Our very uneventful and unexciting day, which I managed to turn into a very long blog post with tons of pictures. lol
