Calling Meagan

Tyler's great-aunt Meagan is one of his favorite people ever. Tyler calls her almost every day... sometimes multiple times! And every time Meagan stops whatever she's doing to humor him and they "chat" until Tyler accidentally hangs up on her.

On the rare occasions where we get him to actually say goodbye rather than just hang up, he waves "dyye" to the phone.

Talking to Meagan is definitely one of the highlights of my kiddo's day! ♥

Little Drummer Boy

There may be music in his future...

I think he's growing up way to fast.
He just looooves his grandpa's drum set!

Tyler and Dexter

To me, some of the best pictures ever are of kids and animals. These two happen to be my favorite.

When we let our dogs in from the muddy yard, we wipe their paws with rags that are kept by the door. Tyler saw us do it maybe twice, before he started trying it. Now when the dogs go out he waits by the door holding a rag and waiting for them to come in.
I'm so glad Tory finally got a picture of the wiping! lol

"Look Dex... Nobody's around... let's get outta here!!"

Got Soap?

All I have to say is that Daddy is the one who does bath time... ;)

Tyler gets sooo excited when we tell him it's time for his bath. He gets a huge smile and points upstairs and say "bath? bath? bath?" over and over again. ♥

Another Small Baby Update

Today was Free Ultrasound #2. :)  I am 14 weeks and 1 day pregnant, due sometime in the end of July. The 25, 26, or 30 depending on who I decide to listen to! I'm kinda hoping this baby is a little late, and born on August 9. Why? Because Tyler's birthday is 06.07.08, and I think it'd be really neat if this one was 08.09.10.

Anyway, everything is still looking great according to the ultrasound, which of course is terrific news! My mom, my sister, Abby, and Tory's mom all got to come and see the ultrasound with me.

Here's the little one today:
Head is on the left, you can't see the arms in this one, and the looong legs are bent and going up and to the left. ♥

I should have health insurance back by next week, so I should be able to go see a doctor soon. :)

Just Too Big

My baby boy is growing way. too. fast.

Here he is sitting in a booster seat- no more high chair for this big guy!- playing with my iPod and car keys, looking too cool in his awesome new striped pullover, with his big kid orange juice off to the side.

Excuse me while I go wipe away a tear...

At the Zoo

Today we went to The National Zoo in D.C. It was just Tory, Tyler, and myself. Almost literally! There weren't many people visiting the zoo at all! It was incredible to walk through the bird house, small mammal house, reptile house, etc and not have to weave through hundreds of people. Actually, there was nobody in the bird house when we were there! We also couldn't have asked for better weather. It was mid 50s and sunny. I really can't put into words what a good day we had... so here are some (ok, a lot of) pictures to show it:

Checking out the panda with Daddy

Tyler really preferred the statues to the real animals. He was a fan of climbing all over them! lol

He thought the toucan in the bird house was pretty awesome, and when the bird flew out of sight, Tyler asked where it went. So cute!

He decided to take a little break in the invertebrate house.

Here he's laughing at, waving at, and saying hi to the snake all at once.
-See what I mean? On a normal day there's no way Tyler could have gotten a chance to watch the animals in the reptile house like this. But today, he sat on the ledges and watched any animal he wanted for as long as he wanted!

Waving hi to the turtles.

He kept saying "aaahhh" to this turtle and trying to stick his hand in it's wide open mouth. :)

The lions and tigers were both very vocal and active today. He thought it was pretty neat when the tiger stopped to take a drink...

...and I think the highlight of Tyler's life was when the tiger growled at us!
He got to "ROAR" at a real lion, which was the whole point of our trip today. He roars at just about everything these days, so we thought it'd be fun for him to see a lion for real. :)

Today was the most fun I've had in a long time! I doubt we'll ever experience the zoo again like we did today.

2 of the 3

Dexter and Cubby were being too cute today! Dex was actually asleep on her... that's a 130lb dog sleeping on a 65lb dog. lol  This is a big deal, considering there are times these two would like to eat each other!

Breakfast Time!

The pictures speak for themselves...

Chuck E. Cheese's... yes, again.

What can I say? We were bored, it's cold outside, and we had coupons. lol

This time it was just Tory, Tyler, and myself. (And the Teddy Graham. aka Unborn Baby)

Can I just say that 12:30 on a weekday when school is NOT out is actually pleasant! There were literally only 6 other families there, which equaled 12ish kids, which equaled peace and quiet and room for our toddler to run around to his hearts content. :)

He played lots of this game:
{And looked like a BIG BOY while doing so!}

And lots and lots of this game:

He loved the carousel again. Still. And may have fallen off of it a few times- laughing the whole time and climbing right back up again. :)

And when he ran out of tokens, he sat in his his chair and stared longingly at the other kids who still got to ride the rides and play the games.

He then turned his pitiful gaze to his mommy...  who is clearly an evil, mean mommy and stood up to her adorable little boy, saying no sir, no more tokens! ;)

Baby News!

Today I had my first ultrasound. My first official information about the pregnancy! Since Tory lost his job, we lost our insurance, so I haven't seen a doctor yet. A friend told me about a place who does free ultrasounds, so of course I checked it out. Sure enough, they got me in and I got an ultrasound, along with a whole bunch of pictures!

{Head on the left. Body, arms, legs on the right.}

The baby has a very strong heartbeat and was doing cartwheels and some kick-boxing the whole time. ♥  He/she sat still at one point giving us a good profile shot, but unfortunately the nurse didn't take a picture during that time.

{A semi-profile shot, with the head on the left and an arm and a leg going from left to right}

Baby is measuring at 11 weeks 1 day, which is almost a week more than we thought. The due date is July 25, 2010. They scheduled me for another ultrasound in a week, but I may reschedule that so my mom can come. Either way, I'll get another free u/s soon. :)

Happy 2010!

I have nothing profound to say, so instead I'll just share a few pictures from New Year's Eve and say that I hope 2010 is a whole lot better than 2009 was! lol

We went to my parent's house for the evening, where we ate junk food and just hung out.

Here's the kiddo looking like someone else. lol

The one and only non-blurry hat picture I got. :)

Tyler played with Mowgli a whole lot. ♥

We came home around 8pm, which is past Tyler's bedtime. I managed to stay awake til 11:15 before I collapsed into bed. I don't regret missing midnight. ;)
