Where a Kid Can Be a Kid

 Guess where we went today?!

Chuck E. Cheese!!

The three of us met up with Kels, Abs, Mike, and the two kids Kels is a nanny for, Caroline (4) and Kevin (2). What a fun time we had!

We ate:
(Check out the cheeseburger on his shirt. Amazing. lol)

We drank:

And we were merry:
He was obsessed with this ride. He must have done it 15 times!

The carousel is another favorite

He wasn't much a fan of this one

And this just about sums up Tyler's feelings toward the end of our time. It was past naptime, and he let us know it!

We really did have so much fun. That place sure is a zoo though! We probably should have thought about the fact that school is out, it's bitter cold outside, and it was right smack in the middle of lunch time. lol  Maybe next time we'll go on a beautiful school day between lunch and dinner! ;)

A Boy and His Dog

We were hanging out in the living room while Tyler wandered around in the bedroom playing with his toys. He suddenly started laughing hysterically.

Tory went to check things out and found him on the bed with Dexter, trying to get Dex to lick him! He would stick his face in Dex's face and just giggle uncontrollably anytime Dexter licked. It was the cutest thing! Unfortunately we didn't have my camera charged so I couldn't get a video. :/  But Tory did get some pictures on his cell phone.
These are when he was finished with the laughing, but just chillin on the bed with his puppy... ♥
...and the remote control!

Christmas 2009

I'll start by saying that we did not get very many good pictures this Christmas. Not many at all. But here's what I got, along with a description of our day. :)

Tyler woke up Christmas morning and found Fergie the Frog waiting for him upstairs. This was one of many, many, many gifts from his grandma and grandpa. We celebrated Christmas with them the next day, so this was the only one that morning.

Playing with the antlers was fun too.

We headed over to my family's house for the day. The plan was to go over around 10am, but sometime between 8:30-9 my sister, Kels, texted us and said to get our butts over there so they could open presents. ;)
We obliged.

Tyler was spoiled completely rotten, as expected.
He opened lots and lots and lots and lots of presents.

He loved this balloon:

But really what he liked best was collecting bows! He went around to everyone's present piles, taking bows off and, for some reason, piling them all in my mom's lap! Crazy kid!

All the girls working hard on Christmas dinner: A Mexican feast!! It was soooooo good.

What's for dessert? Christmas cookies of course!

We attempted a whole bunch of family photos, but failed miserably.

The next morning, we celebrated Christmas with Tory's family. No pictures of that, because I'd left my camera at my parent's house.

We had a terrific two days of Christmas this year!!

A Post About My Oaf

 For a short-haired Great Dane...
...who prefers to spend most of his days lounging on a couch or bed...
...and is a total and complete wimp when it comes to, well, everything...
{Check out those ears!!)
...Dexter really, really, really likes the snow!

Tory and Tyler were shaking the snow off the tree, and Dexter was attacking the snow! Made me laugh. :)

Snow Day again. Still.

Playing in the snow, take two.
{Disclaimer: Most of these pictures are... terrible. My lens kept fogging up and the falling snow made it hard to get clear pictures. But I had to post them anyway. This is me, after all.}

Tory, Tyler, and Grandma got bundled up and went outside for a second time this afternoon. I went outside... minus the bundling up. (A mistake. I couldn't feel my right hand for quite some time. lol)

This time we added one of my scarves. I think it really adds to the cuteness. ♥

Helping Grandma clean off the bushes

The dogs joined us for a while too. Did I mention that Dex LOVES the snow??

Tyler and Grandma

Standing in the snow. Yes, he's standing! It's pretty deep...

Is he not the handsomest??

6pm Tonight:
(That's 19 inches in case you couldn't tell. But I actually think it's a little more. I was hurrying.)

4 inches in 4 hours

Remember this? You should, it was only the last post.
This was right around 8am.

Just four hours later, right around noon:

It was covered within minutes of taking this picture. I guess we need to find a yardstick now...

SnOw DaY!!!

Today we woke up to this:
That's EIGHT inches of snow, and it was/is still coming down hard! I think we were up to almost 10in when Tory last checked. Crazy.

We bundled the kiddo up in lot and lots of layers to go out and enjoy the white stuff. He wanted to wear his daddy's boots...

The first thing he did when we set him down outside was face plant himself into the snow. Ugh! I really thought that would be it- that he'd decide this stuff was not cool and insist on coming back inside. But he was a trooper. He wanted to be held for a while at first.

But soon he was happy to sit down and play!
(Standing was not an option- that's how he face planted. I think 8-10in of snow is a bit too deep for him)

I showed him just one time how to throw it around...

...and he caught on! Once he figured that out, it was giggles and throwing and giggles and throwing. ♥

Dexter was definitely having fun too. He gets SO rambunctious when it snows, and this is by far the most he's ever seen in his life. He was running right by us, which of course, made Tyler laugh hysterically!

Running running running.

We didn't stay out too long, because we couldn't keep Tyler's boots on. :/ He was up early today so he was tired anyway. We'll try again later I'm sure... this snow is supposed to stick around for a looong time!

The Mall

Today we headed to the mall for a change of pace. I think we all needed to get out of the house, especially together! We walked the mall for a while, let Tyler play at the kids play-place, and then had some lunch. The kiddo ate his whole Chick-fil-a kid's meal, and then proceeded to steal food off my plate! Hungry much??

After lunch, Tory took Tyler on the carousel! Tyler loves it. I mean he loves it. He was all smiles the whole time. After that, we may have spoiled him a bit more with a Mrs. Field's M&M cookie...
He was pretty thrilled with that too.

Except he wouldn't eat the cookie part- he picked out the M&Ms!

Then we walked down to the other end of the mall, where we saw a music group playing kid's songs! Rather than join the crowd on the lower level, we hung out above them and Tyler danced and clapped and laughed. He thought this was pretty exciting. When he wasn't dancing, he was sitting and staring at all the little kids. So sweet!
It may not have been a totally exciting morning, but it got us away from unpacking/organizing for a little while! A good thing in my book. :)

Oh Christmas Tree...

Last night we decorated the Christmas tree. Tyler thought it was pretty fun, but he really had more fun "un-decorating." and, well, goofing off...

Tyler's daddy may have been encouraging the goofing off:

Poor Dexter got an ornament on his tail. (No, I'm not an animal abuser and it was not hooked INTO him. lol) Chipper thought it was all a little much. ;)

The only decent "real" Christmas tree decorating picture I got. Tyler and Grandma. ♥

A few cute pictures and a few cute things, none of which go together.

Something I never thought I'd say: "Tyler, we don't kiss the TV." Ahhhh he makes me laugh.

{He likes to watch Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King on his grandma's computer. ♥}

This morning, Tory discovered his driver's license, a credit card, his empty wallet, and a toy soccer ball in his dresser drawer. We laughed and then wondered where the rest of the wallet stuff was. He checked my dresser, where he found a debit card, some of Tyler's shirts, and a few more cards and things from the wallet. More toys were in Tyler's dresser. Crazy kid...

{He loves playing with his daddy's old bath toys}

Right now, he's throwing himself around on the couch and "hiding" in the cushions... while growling. He does this often. :)
{Lots of grandpa playing ends up with a laughing, upside-down toddler. lol}

And now, he's playing telephone with an extension cord. I should probably go stop that one...
