Just Stuff (Some pretty funny stuff actually)

Tyler's latest morning "routine":  He grabs my hand and pulls me to the floor as soon as he hears Tory turn his shower off. We then crawl to the bathroom- growling the whole time of course- and "scare" Daddy. Tyler gets a huge kick out of this! (So do I... it's pretty hilarious)

Whenever we see a dog- I mean whenever we see a dog- Tyler goes nuts pointing and shouting "DOG! DOG! DOOOOOG!!!!!" This is great when we're in the car, or even at the playground. Not so much when we're walking through a store and somebody with a service dog walks by...

Yesterday, we were on our way home from Costco. I stopped behind a car that was the same make/model/color as my mom's. Tyler went berserk screaming for G. I mean the kid was going absolutely crazy! He was pointing and shouting and giggling all at once. So freakin' cute. Soooo I did what anybody would do, I drove to G's house rather than ours. He literally laughed the whole ten minutes it took to get there, and between laughs was repeating "G! G!" over and over again. (I hope G feels loved. ;) )

On that note, we had dinner at Mom's last night. My brother Nick has boats. Kayaks, canoes, and whatever else. One of his kayaks is very visible in the backyard from the dining room table, and all throughout dinner Tyler was saying "Nick. Boat." He would point to Nick's room and say "Nick?"  So once again, I did what anybody would do. I took him to visit Nick at work. (Spoiled much??)

Tyler calls Slurpees "Pee". Fortunately he does not shout this when we walk into a 7-11... but I figure it's only a matter of time.

He throws a temper tantrum if we drive by a playground (with slides) and do not stop. I mean all out temper tantrums. Complete with shrieking and sweating.

He hits the ground running when we do go to the playground. (Every day. Sometimes twice a day) We go so often that I have a collage picture frame on my wall of just Tyler on slides.
He seems to like it better the more wild the ride is- this means he has learned to twist and turn on the way down rather than sit straight. Lovely.

Speaking of slides, Tyler's hair is the funniest thing EVER. It's perfectly normal while he's running around playing, then as soon as he sits on a slides it goes all electric. Then he gets off the slide and it's normal again. Every single time.

Bubbles or No Bubbles. That is the question.

Tyler and I went outside to blow bubbles today. We were rather excited about this. So when the bubble solution did not create bubbles, we felt rather let down.

We tried...

and tried.

But no bubbles. :(
Well, I was determined that my kid was gonna blow some bubbles, so we immediately left for the store to try another brand. (our fourth brand so far. no joke)
Tyler kept a good grip on his bubble wand the whole time we were gone.

We returned home with yet another brand. This time... voila! Bubbles!!!  There's the smile I was lookin' for. ♥

He's a normal kid- loooves popping those bubbles! (and trying to hold them)

I blew some bubbles:

And so did he.

And then he stole the bubble wand from me. And proceeded to make a huge mess. :)
This is the smile, no, the laugh after he splashed me in the face with them.

He couldn't quite figure out how the bubbles came from that thing, even after examining it thoroughly!

So so so cute! (I know, I say that a lot)

We were both covered literally head to toe in bubbles by the time we went inside for dinner. Totally worth it. I just love that genuinely happy smile of his. ♥

Sliding, sliding, and sliding some more!

Tory finally had a day off. And by that I mean he only has class today, no work. So we took a much needed few hours to just have some fun together. By going to the playground. Go figure. lol

Tyler liked the slides. A lot.
He showed us where he was planning on going, in case we couldn't figure it out for ourselves...

He slid over and over and over again.
Down all kinds of slides.
Regular slides:

Twisty slides:

And tunnel slides:
(After so many slides, his hair went a little wild. ♥)

I may have even joined him on the double slide. :)

When he had his fill of the slides... actually that never happened. I should say, when we pried him away from the slides, we made a pit stop at the creek on our way to the car. But we couldn't find any rocks to throw. :/
So he just pointed at the rocks that were already in the water. Probably wondering why Daddy didn't go in there and get them for him!

Tyler's First Circus!

Today Tyler and I went to the circus with G, Kels, Mike, Nick, Chelsea, and Abby. Tory was supposed to join us, but he ended up having to work. :(

I won't talk much about it, because I'll be honest, it wasn't that great...  but we got a few good pictures anyway!

L-R
Mike, Kels, Tyler, me, Abs, Nick, Chelsea

Me and the kiddo. He's learned to hold his ticket out for pictures like his mom and aunts do. lol

He was very interested in all the flashing toys!

Popcorn AND a pretzel. They kept him happy for a while.

And when they stopped working, he was passed to Kels for what appears to be some chocolate. ;)

Right around this point, Tyler got done. He'd seen the elephants and the dogs, and that was good enough for him. So G took him out to run around.
She said he kept going to the motorcycle toys! That's his grandpa's (D, or Dave) grandson!

Shortly after that, I got done too. ;)  (I think my expectations are way too high for a circus after seeing three Cirque Du Soleil shows... lol) So I joined G and Tyler on their walk.
We played with his new Thomas toys.

And then we left. (Halfway through!)

And went to get Slurpees instead. :)

We won't be doing the circus again til Tyler's old enough to sit still for a long time! lol

Not Tyler's First Easter

Why do I still think that every holiday is Tyler's first?? The kid is almost two years old!

So today was not Tyler's first Easter.

His pretty awesome Easter basket.

He was showing me how to open his new Thomas train.

He loooooves his trains!

Trying to eat his marshmallow-y bunny lollipop... through the wrapper. Not so tasty!

Not so sure about Peeps...

"Here Dad, you eat it!"

"Hmmm... Daddy doesn't want it. Maybe the train will eat it."

And those are all the "Easter" pictures we got.
He played with his toys, and soon Daddy had to head to work so Tyler and I went to G's house. We hung out for a while, opened a second Easter basket (lots of fun toys, no pictures), then we went to the circus (next blog post), then home for nap, up and back to G's house for dinner, home to open basket #3 from Grandma and Grandpa (lots of candy, again, no pictures), bath time, and bed time.
That's my lazy way of summing up our Easter. :)

24 weeks down, 16 weeks to go!!

Nothing new to report this week. Baby Girl is still the size of a darn papaya. And still listening to the world around us. And still has a fully formed face. :p

As for how I'm feeling, pretty much the same. I've learned to take a 45min-1hour nap every day when Tyler does, and I feel good as new when I wake up. Tums are still my friend.

I do have a confession: I secretly (ok, not so secretly) hope there's a second girl hiding somewhere in there. Not because I SO want twins (although I do), but because I am completely in love with TWO baby girl names. One of which we had agreed on, and the other which Tory told me he hated, but then just the other day changed his mind. Ugh! Now I'm torn. So I'm just hoping for two lil' girls. lol

Cravings this week: Target pretzels and Chick Fil A sandwiches. :)

Same Day, Different Walk

I headed off to work today and left the kiddo with his daddy. Apparently the weather was just too beautiful to only take *one* walk today. So they headed out again. To the exact same spot we went to this morning. :)

Tyler showed Daddy the way.

He quickly got down to business and started tossing some more rocks into the creek.

Sitting down is more comfy.

He's so happy when he's outside. ♥

He scooted closer and closer to the water... til he was sitting IN the water!

I guess he wasn't too thrilled about leaving.

I have no reason for sharing this except that I think the outfit is precious!
(He had to take a bath and change his clothes after chillin' in the creek)

Baking a Cake

Tyler helped make a cake today.

Kinda.
{I just love his face here!}
